This year we returned to the beautiful North Georgia Mountains where life is quieter and the pace is a bit slower. This time, visiting the Brasstown Valley Resort in Young Harris, Georgia.
On Thursday night there was an optional Pig Pickin' at the Sunset Pavilion overlooking a magnificent view. A two-man man played old-fashioned mountain music for authentic flavor.
On Friday there were option excursions to the Foxfire Museum and Heritage Center, and to the nearby towns of Blue Ridge and Helen. An old fashioned Barn Dance in the Ballroom, complete with cloggers and a Blue Grass Band, rounded out the evening.
After the Saturday morning PJ Breakfast there was free time to visit local areas or to enjoy the amenities of the Resort – Horseback Riding, Indoor/Outdoor Swimming Pool, Golf, Equani Spa, or a Walk in the Woods. Or we could do the Watermelon Break with Watermelon Seed Spitting Contest followed by either Bridge in the Lobby or Bingo at a lovely Creekside Pavilion. Saturday night featured dinner and an Appalachian Celebration in the Ballroom.
