Over twelve years ago an organization began in Fullerton, CA, when Sue Ellen Cooper gave her friend, Linda Murphy the gift of a Red Hat. They began to meet and play in full "regalia" (based on the poem "Warning, When I Am An Old Woman, I Shall Wear Purple" by Jenny Joseph), and soon other women wanted to join the fun. Within five years there were 40,000 chapters worldwide. Visit the official website.
We here in Georgia are privileged to be a small part of that movement, and have organized the Georgia Red Hat Jubilee to carry on the tradition locally with the support of Georgia chapters and Queens' Councils.
